Welcome to the Enchanted Forest

Since moving back to Oregon six years ago, John and I love to explore the state, and frequently take day trips to outlying areas, just to check them out. Yesterday, we took Ingrid to The Enchanted Forest, located about an hour South of Portland.

She got to meet Princes and Princesses….and was, in fact, convinced that this beautiful princess was the real Rapunzel, who had recently gotten a haircut.

Her Prince Charming, here, was exactly that.  What a charmer!

The Enchanted Forest is a retro amusement park located in an actual forest with a minimum of mechanical rides, and a maximum of good, old fashioned vibes.  It was constructed to resemble an old English village, replete with fairy tale characters and music and art set among a beautiful, natural backdrop.

While there, I took Ingrid on her first “grown up” ride.  There are no words to describe how proud of herself she was. I, for one, looked like a drowned rat by the time it was all over.

We got to hear some great Irish music, where Ingrid and her Gamps cut a rug, as usual.

Mind you, Ingrid is a child who, like her grandmother, always has music in her head.  She sings and dances wherever she goes.

When we first arrived at the park, we were greeted by a small castle, followed by a path that lead through the woods.

…and Jack and Jill

Screen Shot 2016-07-18 at 7.40.56 AMThe Enchanted Forest is a charming little park, not loud, and has a great serene vibe. Ingrid had the time of her life, and John and I had a great time, too….dancing, singing, hiking, laughing and eating the actually good food they had there.

The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was wonderful and nurturing toward Ingrid.  That is the way it is here in Oregon.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This is a gentle place….a good place to live. The weather was nice and cool…in the low 70’s.  Perfection.

The Enchanted Forest is an amusement park located in Turner in the U.S. state of Oregon, next to Interstate 5 just south of Salem.  This is another video of the log ride, showing the entire ride.  I wanted to post it for you so you can see how deep in the woods this place is.
