That Whole Christian vs. Muslim Thing…

Standard

Every day, people are shot with guns throughout America and the rest of the  world.  In the United States, if the shootings are committed by a white man or woman, that person is referred to as a “Lone Wolf.”  If it is a professional killer (i.e. soldier), he is referred to as a “National Hero”.  If the shooter is a  black or Latino man, the shootings are often considered to be “gang related” crimes.  If a crime is committed by a lone Muslim, or even a group of Muslims with extreme beliefs, then the  13 billion Muslims around the world are blamed.

Since the late 70s, there have been 8 murders, 17 attempted murders, 42 bombings, 181 acts of arson, and thousands of incidences of other criminal activities targeting reproductive health care facilities here in the United States. With few exceptions, there were perpetrated by Christians who opposed abortion for religious reasons. Do I blame ALL Christians for this loathsome behavior? No. Do I blame the Christian religion for this loathsome behavior? No, of course not.

These acts were committed by mentally ill, misguided individuals. The same is true of crimes committed by Muslims. Why do so many blame ALL Muslims for the acts of a few radicals?  Furthermore, virtually ALL of these crimes were committed by men. Should we, then,  ban or discriminate against men as well? or just Muslim men?  Should we export them and ban them from coming into America? I don’t think so.

Please help stop the bigotry. Please stop grouping people together into one category to be targeted for hatred and discrimination.

I have Muslim friends who are wonderful, peace-loving people. Just as there are in ANY religion.  It hurts my heart to see so much hatred being directed toward them. Islam is THEIR religion, not mine.  So?  America is a melting pot country.  There are a tremendous number of religions in the United States that have nothing to do with me or my religious beliefs.  Does that give me the moral right to discriminate against them and propagate violence against them?  Does that allow anyone with true Christian ( or other) ethics to do the judging?  Is that their job?  Really?  Hypocrites.

What the world needs now, is love,  sweet love.

It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of.

Please, just stop the hatred, ok?   It’s really pretty easy, once you set your mind to it, and it makes the world a better place.  Just be nice.  Think you can do that?  Peace.  Please.  Live your own lives and let be those whose lives and religions differ from yours, regardless of how offended your sensibilities are.  Honestly, it’s none of your damned business.

Thank you.

  1. Agreed. I am personally tired of writing about it or even talking about it. People think that if they choose to believe these fabricated narratives then they will come out unscathed: but that is not so. Pretending to fall for the narrative only so that we can sleep well is equal to being past of the conspiracy, aiding and abetting in a new form of genocide, something we seem to excel at now: aborigines, native Americans, Iraq, Vietnam….the list goes on and on and every time we let it happen…that makes us a part of it. Not innocent of it.

Please tell me what you think! Go on! Leave a comment! It's ok! :-)
